The 47-year-old Anger Management star, Charlie Sheen, revealed that his 28-year-old daughter Cassandra Estevez and her husband were expecting their first child.
‘Me as a grandfather, Dave… I don’t know. It’s like the world’s going to crack in half,’ he joked.
But Sheen quickly added: ‘It’s fabulous. It’s just not a title I’m ready to adopt.’
Cassandra is Sheen’s daughter with his high school girlfriend Paula Profit, and was born when he was 19. He gave her away in 2010 when she married her high school boyfriend Casey Huffman.
Along with his oldest daughter Sheen is also a father to daughters Sam, eight, and Lola, seven, with second wife Denise Richards, and three-year-old twins, Bob and Max, with third wife Brooke Mueller.
During his Letterman interview Sheen also referred to his notorious meltdown in 2011, which led to the actor being fired from his hit TV show Two and a Half Men.
At the time many speculated substance abuse was to blame, but Sheen denied that drugs caused the fracas.
Charlie was recently asked if crack cocaine had been a factor in the meltdown, Charlie said that he wished that it was and alluded that it was something much deeper than any kind of substance abuse.
‘Here’s the confusing part. I wish it was crack cocaine. It wish it was an ocean of vodka, a bathtub full of pills,’ he explained.
‘It was just my brain was kind of separated into itself. I just had to take a stand for what I know was right.’
Charlie admitted that the substance has previously caused him problems in the past.
‘Not during the meltdown,’ he said. ‘During the previous 30 years of my life.’
Sheen, who now stars in the series Anger Management, was fired from Two and a Half Men in March 2011 and attacked the show’s creator Chuck Lorre over the following few months on stage, on Twitter and in the press.
During that time Sheen displayed erratic behaviour and there were several rumours about rampant drug use.
Ashton Kutcher, 34, went on to take over Sheen’s role and remains in it to date.
